#87 - Dance at a social gathering /slash/ is anybody out there?

So, the month of July has pretty much been a colossal failure for me in terms of accomplishing things on my List. The only items I've really made progress on are those that involve mailing postcards to people (see my #4), and all of those were sent within the first ten days of the month. But, in the spirit of having some new content up on this blog, I'm going to record the small accomplishments and failures that amount to my progress in the month of July. To make things fun, I'm going to be using the +/- format that I like to employ for my primary blog.

So, without further ado...

+ I gave Shalini a birthday card on the 24th (her actual birthday), so #8 is 1/30th completed
+ I gave mix CDs to Anjali, Shalini, and Jess, so #12 is 3/5ths completed. I think that those three are the only people willing to tolerate my mix CDs, so accomplishing the rest of this item may take some doing.
+ I'm totally almost done with my social theory summer reading, I promise (re: #47)
+ I'm totally going to the beach next weekend, so look forward to my finishing #18!

AND...(I just realized this as I was going through my list)...I've completed #87! The wedding party dance at Elizabeth and Tom's wedding, embarassing as it might have been, was dancing at a social gathering. Completed on July 23, 2005.

So, that was the progress. Now for my slacking...

- #1 (send a baby gift to C and M). The twins were born on July 11th and Glarkware has the cute baby tshirts back in stock, so I really have no excuse for not doing this.
- #20 (visit an Ikea). I had a chance to visit Ikea when I was in Chicagoland for the aformentioned wedding, and I turned it down. Which I would do again because spending more time with Jess is worth it, but it's going to take some strategizing if I'm actually going to complete this.

update

Okay, people. I'm taking one for the team and posting an update, despite not having completed anything on my list, because I don't want our massive readership to get the impression that Jess is the only person completing things.

#43 - Read 50 books for fun
I've finished Dan Brown's The Davinci Code and Jhumpa Lahiri's The Namesake. I'm currently working on Colleen Carrols' The New Faithful: Why Young Adults are Embracing Christian Orthodoxy.

#4 - Send postcards to 15 people
I've sent five! Let me know if you want a postcard...
