goal bonanza!
Goals in progress:
#17 - Attend an academic conference
I'm please to report that I've submitted a paper for the SSSR (google it) conference in September and that my paper has been accepted. So, I should be completing this goal in September. There's also a possibility that I'll be attending a conference this summer, but either way, progress is being made on this.
Goals completed:
#65 - Crochet a pair of legwarmers
Finally, this goal is complete, only 8 months after I started working on it! The legwarmers are in the mail on the way to Megan and should be arriving shortly. I had Viky take a photo of them, so look for that in the next couple days.
#99 - Learn a new crochet stitch
Today I learned the half double crochet (hdc). In honor of Valentine's Day, I'm crocheting a heart-shaped potholder because I'm lame and have no life and I like kitschy stuff and I used the half double crochet in that. I'm starting with the heart potholder because it's easy and working my way up to a potholder that looks like an ear of corn.
Goals that I really need to work on:
#32 - Send $$ for the tsunami relief on the one year anniversary
Okay, so the one year anniversary of the tsunami has past, and I totally fail at completing this goal. I've been trying to look for reputable organizations to make my donation to, but I'm kind of busy with school so I haven't had a lot of time to do the research. If any of you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know!

You used the word kitschy! My little art historical heart beats only for you!
